Blue Eyed Boy

Good morning! I woke up in a great mood this morning after a good night of sleep. Mommy and I started out the day with some fun floor time.

Yesterday mommy and I stayed home because we were both a bit under the weather. Mommy felt worse than I did, but we still had a good day. It was nice to be home together. I had some oatmeal and applesauce for lunch, and I was so excited that I kicked both of my socks off! Then I had a cookie. Yummy!

We even had a chance to go for a quick walk with Dakota. It was nice to be out in the sunshine a little bit. Mommy said it was good for our colds.

Tonight is boys' night at home. Mommy is going out to dinner with some friends, so daddy, dakota, and I are staying home. I think we're going to have more fun than mommy.

Broncos Lose

Another sad day for football fans around here. Those Steelers really had it in for both of our favorite teams. I wore my Broncos outfit and cheered them on, too. Oh well.

We did all go for a nice walk today. I rode in the backpack again. A lot of kids around the neighborhood made snowmen, so we went on a tour of them. The sun even came out!

It's been a pretty good weekend, all in all. Daddy has been on call, but he's gotten to spend most of the time with us. He missed my swim class yesterday, but mommy and I went. I liked it more then last week. The cold water didn't shock me so much. I chased after a rubber ducky and kicked my legs.

I still like my bath the most though. I had a nice one tonight. I'm still having them in the kitchen sink, because I like it there. Mommy uses the water sprayer to rinse me off, and I giggle like crazy. That thing is very funny. It tickles my belly, and I like to put my hands in the spray of water.

These pictures are after my bath. I was looking especially cute, daddy thought, so he got out the camera.

I'm off to bed now. I must rest up for another busy week. I've been sleeping VERY well the past several nights. Sweet Dreams! ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz....

Pre-Dinner Hike

The sun came out again today, and when we all got home, we went for a walk. Dakota was so excited! We had a good time. I love riding in my backpack.

After our walk, we had some dinner. I had squash, peas, and peaches. It was all pretty good, but I really like those peaches.

Tomorrow is Friday! This week has gone fast. We're all excited that it's almost the weekend again. We're going to go to swim class on Saturday and just enjoy hanging out together.

And, of course, we're going to be cheering for the Broncos on Sunday. Go Denver!

Raspberries

Mommy is on call tonight, but we were very lucky, and she was able to come home to have dinner with me. While I was eating my squash, I showed her my new trick - blowing raspberries. It is very silly and very fun. I'm only just starting to get good at it, so it's requiring a lot of practice. It kept me quite busy during dinner.

I tried some mashed up bananas tonight. I finally found a food that I don't like. Mommy missed getting a picture of my face during that, but she thought it was hilarious. I pulled my chin back into my neck and almost gagged. I think we'll hold off on bananas for a while.

I am enjoying my new cup. It's very colorful. I'm not quite sure what's it's for, but I like chewing on it.

It's snowing right now. If it keeps up, we might finally have enough snow to try my new bear sled. That would be fun.

I'm off to bed now. It's such hard work being so cute...I have to get some rest.

Colts Lose

Well, much to daddy's chagrin, the Colts lost today. He is so disappointed. But all is not lost...the Broncos won last night. I was sound asleep, but mommy watched the whole game and told me this morning. At least I won't have to wear both my Broncos and Colts outfits at the same time next Sunday. Go Broncos!!

I got to go out and have some fun with mommy in the sun, even though it was pretty cold out there. We took Dakota for a quick walk, and we all soaked in some sunshine. It makes us feel good. Then I had a bath and got to play with my toes a little bit. Fun stuff.

First Day of Swim Class!

This morning, I woke up and it was COLD!!! But, good for me, mommy and daddy had signed us up for some baby swim classes. This morning was the first one, so we all got our bathing suits on and went to the pool. It was not as warm as my bath, and my first toe dip was a little shocking. I wasn't sure if it was going to be very fun, but daddy held on tight, and it got better. We sang songs, blew bubbles and floated on our backs. It was fun, but by the end I was definitely ready for my nap. Anyway, I had a good time, and I think mommy and daddy did, too. Next week, I learn to kick not one, but two legs at the same time!

Sunny Day

Well, today was unseasonably warm. Daddy got out of the hospital early, so he picked me up and we went out for a 90 minute hike. Me in my new super backpack and Dakota Dog came along as well.

It was a lot of fun, and it was great to see that sun once again.

Sleeping off my shots....

I had my six month shots today. All four of them. The first one hardly phased me, but then I realized what was going on. OUCH! I got mad. I recovered pretty quickly though and then fell asleep on the way home. It's hard work getting shots. My goodness.

We've been so busy since New Year's Day...wow! Last week was a flurry of activity as we all adjusted to getting back to work after such a nice two weeks of holidays. I was happy to see Mona; she couldn't believe how many new things I had learned. She told mommy that she thinks I'm very smart. I seem to know how to do lots of things with my hands; things she's never seen another baby figure out how to do. I also showed her how good I am at rolling over and over and over, and I've been sharing all of my new noises and words. I am talking up a storm. Daddy calls me Verbal Merbal. My favorite thing to say is MaMa. Mommy is very pleased. We practice our MMMMM noises a lot. Daddy thinks we should start working on DDDDD.

I've been eating a lot of new foods. I now eat sweet potatoes, avocado, peaches, homemade applesauce, squash, green beans, oatmeal, and rice cereal. And I'm learning how to drink water out of a cup. So far, I haven't met a food I didn't like. I'm a big fan of my mommy's applesauce. It makes me kick my legs and giggle.

By far, the funniest thing around is Daddy. He can really get me going. I have the biggest belly laughs when he's silly with me. Mommy says that it's the sweetest sound in the whole world to hear me laugh like that. The other night I had a bath in the kitchen sink, and daddy made me laugh - I kicked and kicked like I've never kicked before. There was water everywhere!! I'm getting ready for my first swim class on Saturday. We're all really excited about it. Daddy thinks it's probably time for me to have my baths in the big tub, because I'm getting a little too crazy for the kitchen! Probably after I learn some new moves in the pool on Saturday, I'll really be crazy. That'll definitely make me laugh.

It's time for me to go. I've got some playing to do. By the way, the sun finally came out this week. Grand Rapids only tied the record for the most sunless days - 15!! Hopefully we'll never break the record. Talk to you later...

COOKIE!!!

Mommy finally found some teething cookies for me. She looked for the perfect cookie for a long time, and today she found some vanilla flavored ones that weren't too sugary. Daddy took a bite and declared it yummy. I have to agree!

After I ate a BIG dinner of squash, oatmeal, and peaches, I sat in my high chair and enjoyed a cookie. It was delicious. It was great fun to pick up my own food and make a mess. I'm a fan!

Mouse and Papa Jon went back to Indianapolis today after going to breakfast with daddy. Mommy and I slept in, because mommy had a very long, busy night of call. After our breakfast, we all went on a walk with Dakota. I rode in my baby backpack.

The weather has been rather dismal. Late this afternoon, it rained - a lot. This morning, mommy and I heard a very interesting thing on the news. There has not been ONE minute of sunshine in Grand Rapids since Christmas - this makes it the cloudiest place in the WORLD. No joke. Mommy has been talking about this all day; she can't believe that we live in the CLOUDIEST PLACE ON EARTH. Good grief.

Happy New Year's Day!

Good morning! It's a gray day in Michigan, but it's still a happy day and a good start to 2006. I am at home with daddy, Dakota, Mouse and Papa Jon. Mommy is at the hospital again; hopefully she'll get to come home and visit us later this afternoon.

Papa Jon doesn't feel good today, so he's resting on the couch. That's okay, because the Colts are on TV. He and daddy are going to watch the game. Everyone is going to eat sauerkraut for good luck. Mommy said that I can't have any, so instead I'll eat squash for luck. I think I'll probably like it more anyway.

Dakota and I have been hanging out together this morning. We're becoming good friends. He makes a good chair.

For Christmas, Mouse and Papa Jon gave me a Baby Einstein exersaucer. There are a lot of really neat toys on it. It makes cow, dog, and cat noises, and it has nice, chewy things for me to gnaw on.

This morning, my two top teeth are peeking out of my gums. Mommy felt the tips of them last week, and now you can see them. That'll make four teeth!

Tomorrow, after mommy comes home, we're going to have a great day. Neither mommy or daddy will be on call - for the first time since the 26th. That'll be nice.
