Happy New Year

It's been a good day. Mommy got home from the hospital early this morning after being on call yesterday and last night. I heard her come in, so she got me and took me to bed, and we took a little snooze together.

When we woke up, we had a Christmas celebration with Mouse and Papa Jon, who drove in from Indianapolis last night. We all exchanged fun presents and had a merry time.

Then we went to lunch, and I had some green beans at the restaurant while everyone else was eating their sandwiches. Yum! Mommy and I went back to our house and played for a while, and I had a bath, and got ready for the Broncos game.

Happy New Year to everyone!! It will be an exciting 2006 as I learn more and more tricks.

Six Months!!

I am now 6 months old! My half-birthday was on Christmas Eve. Yesterday, mommy and I went to visit my doctor. I weigh 18 pounds and 5 ounces which is the 75th percentile. I am 29 inches long which is greater than 100th percentile, and my head is also greater than 100th percentile. Dr. Bolan called me the "long, lean baby machine". Mommy thinks this is funny, and now she understands why my 6 month clothes are too short.

Christmas!

Well, we're back in Michigan after a wonderful trip to Colorado. We had so much fun! And the sun was out the entire time we were there. It was beautiful. I've decided that I like Colorado. I think I'll go back.

Daddy and mommy skied at Copper Mountain and Vail, and they stayed overnight in Vail while I stayed with Ems. They had fun staying in the town where they got married almost three years ago, and I had a great time with Ems. My aunt Susan and cousin Kathryn arrived from Nevada to visit, too.

On Friday, I went to lunch with daddy and his friend Ashley. She has a little boy named Waylon, who is almost two. Mommy had a migraine, so she had to stay home. After lunch we met Grandpa and shopped for a backpack to carry me around. It's very neat. That afternoon, my Grandpa's family came over to meet me. I met my Great Gramma Lou!

The next day was Christmas Eve, otherwise known as my half-birthday. I had some peaches to celebrate. Daddy went to finish his shopping, but mommy, Ems, Aunt Susan, Kathryn, and I hung out at home and even went for a nice walk. For dinner, we had a big christmasy feast. I wore my Pooh Christmas bib.

Christmas morning was lots of fun. We had stockings and lots of presents. I got so many fun toys and books! I'm really excited to play with them. Daddy gave mommy a beautiful bracelet with my picture on a charm. He also surprised her with my sixth month pictures. She loved them!

That afternoon, I played on the floor for a long time. I did lots of rolling around and figured out that I can roll to move from toy to toy. I also learned how to pull the little frog's leg on my green block. Everyone thought I was pretty entertaining, because I was very persistent until I figured it out.

Daddy had to leave for Michigan on the 26th, so he got up before I even did. We were sad that he left, but we still had a lot of fun. We all went to Pearl Street Mall and walked around. I rode in my new backpack. I've got a great view from mommy's back. We had lunch at the Walnut Brewery; mommy had a buffalo burger. She said it was yummy!

On Tuesday, I played with Ems and enjoyed my last full day in Colorado. Mommy's cousin, Sara, came over to visit, and she and mommy went for a long walk together. That night we went to Denver to celebrate my Great Gramma Lou's 92nd birthday.

On Wednesday, we had to get ready to leave. I took two really long naps and played with Ems and Aunt Susan. Mommy had lots of packing to do. We went to the airport for our flight at 4:30pm.

The flight to Detroit was very long, but I did great. Every time we're in public, at least one person tells mommy that they can't believe what a good baby I am! Unfortunately, our flight to Grand Rapids was delayed, so we didn't get home until after 1am. Daddy came to pick us up, and I was happy to see him, even if I was exhausted.

I had a good sleep that night, and mommy and I slept in the next morning. It's great to be home! I am sad and miss my Ems, but I like being home with mommy, daddy, and dakota dog. It was a GREAT trip to Colorado!

Daddy Back Home

Well, Daddy had to go back to Michigan early to work, so Mommy and I are still hanging out in Colorado for a few more days. Here are some pictures of me taken before Christmas. I think they turned out pretty good and mommy was very happy to get them for Christmas!

Lots more blog and pictures from my time in Colorado to follow!

Colorado, Skiing, and Ems

We arrived in Colorado yesterday after a great flight. We had to leave the house at 6am - that's very early. Daddy thought that we were on time, but we actually left the house at 6:18; when he realized what time it was, he drove FAST!! But we made the flight just fine, and I was a champ. There were lots of people to smile at on the plane, and I even took a little snooze. We had a lay-over in Minneapolis, and I got to lay on my blankie and kick and stretch. The flight to Denver was very full, and this guy that mommy called a "jerk" was sitting in front of us; he kept putting his seat back all the way back and hitting mommy's and daddy's knees. We finally made it though!!! YAY!

We drove to Ems' house and, boy, did I get some great cuddles. She was soooooo happy to see me. She had a little room all set up for me with fun toys and a cozy bed. Mommy, daddy, and I all took naps, and then I had some oatmeal and squash.

This morning, mommy and daddy left me with Ems and went skiing in the mountains. They were really excited. Mommy didn't get to ski last year, because she was pregnant with me, so she was really looking forward to a day on the slopes. I'm having fun with Ems; we even had a playdate with a little girl named Allie. She is a week older than I am, and it was fun. We'll have to put up pictures later. Talk to you soon!

Back to Sleep

Well, just a quick word. I had a new first last night! I fell asleep on my stomach (typical), but then I flipped over to my back (not typical). Now this usually causing a severe crying reaction, however, this time I just didn't mind. I drifted off to sleep no problem. Mommy was very happy about it. Glad I could help out!

The Nutcracker Ballet and Green Beans!

Last night, mommy and daddy went to the Nutcracker Ballet in Downtown Grand Rapids with the grown-ups, and I went to G.G.'s house for some fun playtime!

Today, we all went to lunch, and I saw my cousins, Jake and Jessica. Jessica thinks I'm pretty neat. Jake is much more interested in video games than in playing with me - maybe in a couple of years, he'll show me some karate moves.

After lunch, mommy, daddy and I went to the Carter's outlet to get more cute clothes for me. I'm growing so fast, so I need new things all the time. Both mommy and daddy like cute outfits - but mommy likes the ones that make me look like a baby, and daddy likes the ones the make me look like a little boy. It's pretty silly. I just like the ones that are comfy.

Tonight when I ate my oatmeal, I tried some green beans, too. They were pretty good. I liked them more than mommy thought I would.

Christmas is only 15 days away! And we leave for Colorado in just 10 days. I talked to Ems on the phone tonight. She is very impressed with all of my stories.

Tomorrow, mommy is on call at the hospital, so it's boys' day at home. That means football and napping on the couch.

Until next time.....I'm off to bed.

Swing Time, Cold Snow

Hi! Long time, no blogging.... I've been so busy, learning new things, playing with mommy and daddy, petting dakota, eating cereal, drinking lots of milk, and decorating the house for christmas.

We finally got some new pictures of the cutest baby. Yesterday, mommy and I went for a walk to the grocery store. It was very cold, but I was bundled up. My cheeks were rosy. I love my stroller, and I think the grocery store is a pretty fun place. Lots of bright things to see, and lots of people to smile at.

Last weekend, we got a new toy for me. It's a jumping swing, and boy, is it fun!! Last night, mommy hung it in the kitchen, and I played while she was making dinner. It makes me giggle.

Yesterday, mommy and I decorated the house with all of the christmas decorations. It looks good! And our tree is pretty. I like to stare at the lights. I'm really excited to visit Ems in a few weeks and see her tree, too.

Tomorrow I'm going to visit G.G. because mommy and daddy are going to the Nutcracker Ballet. I'm looking forward to seeing G.G. She is a very good cuddler, and she loves me very much!
