Eyes, Nose, Tongue

Over the past couple of days, I'm discovering my face and naming its parts. While I was in Colorado, I learned to click my tongue. I think it's very funny to make a loud noise with it. I can also blow air like I'm blowing out a candle. It's the sign for HOT. Whenever mommy is cooking something I make this sign; then she blows on my cheek and I giggle! Last night, I flipped my tongue completely over. Mommy and daddy can't even do that; but Ems can.

Tonight I pointed to my eye and said EYE. Then I stuck my finger up my nose. Mommy said NOSE. I kept my finger up there and said NOE - it sounded really funny because I was plugging up one side and making a hollow sound. I did it over and over. It's so funny!!

First Milk Shake!

This was actually daddy's milk shake, but he shared with me. It was so yummy! I figured out how to drink out of a straw and sucked it right up. What a treat!

Last Days of Summer

These are some pictures from the last couple of weeks. Here I am on the golf cart in Northport. Boy, is that fun! I love to stand on daddy's lap and steer it when we go for a ride. I'm very strong, and sometimes I can wrestle control away from daddy.

I also just like to stand on the seat and feel important. I am very important, you know, and I like to show off a bit.

This is me and Dakota. We were all on a hike in Leelanau State Park, and we took a break to admire the view of Lake Michigan.

Uh-Oh!

This is me and daddy taking a little dip in the water. I wasn't wearing my bathing suit, but it didn't matter.

I love to play in the sand, but I love water even more. My bucket was filled with lots of water, and I thought I'd try to blow bubbles in it. This is a trick I learned at Mona's house from the big kids. Sometimes in the tub, I stick my head down and blow bubbles. It's funny when I haven't leaned down far enough and I'm trying to blow air bubbles. It makes me giggle.

Mommy thought it was great that I was trying to dunk my face, because I had eaten so much sand, she figured I needed something to rinse it down.

Here I am getting ready for the football season. I love balls, and I'm getting very good at playing catch. This one is a bit difficult, however.

The funny thing about this picture is that daddy and Papa Jon are taking naps in the background. They're goofy!

Labor Day Michigan 2006

We had a great long weekend. On Saturday, daddy and mommy went to the first University of Michigan football game of the season. I stayed home with a new babysitter, Kathy. She was very nice, and we went to the park and played a lot of fun games.

On Sunday, we stayed home and had a nice family day. We went on a long walk and had a picnic lunch. Daddy and I strolled down the sidewalk. Mommy put my sand and water table together.

I love playing in all of that water. Our neighbor, Abby, came over to play with it, too. She is five. My favorite thing was to fill the boat with water and then dump it out on myself. I got soaked!

Today we went to the Spring Lake Yacht Club corn roast with Great Grandma Bev and Bob. I lounged in my stroller and had some lunch while watching the sailboats. They're kinda like trucks, so I liked them.

Mommy and daddy ate a lot of corn and said it was yummy. I enjoyed some corn OFF the cob.

When we got home, mommy and I both took a nap, and daddy watched some golf. Then we all took Dakota for a walk (I call him doda, by the way).

It was a nice weekend, with lots of fun activities and family time.
