Memorial Day Weekend & Indy 500

Happy Memorial Day! We have had a great weekend. It's been very hot!

Daddy and mommy went to the Indianapolis 500 race on Sunday. It was mommy's first time, but daddy had been before. Apparently, it's really neat!

Daddy said it was one of the best finishes ever, so we put in a picture for everyone.

Monday was family day! We all went to the pool. This is a picture of me and mommy last July. I was about 3 weeks old.

And this is a picture of me on Memorial Day. I'm 11 months old! I love the pool. It was so much fun. At first I kept a tight grip on mommy's leg, but then I got more daring. I even tried to swim and keep my head above water - that's hard work.

Here are some pictures of me in Indianapolis. I had my first haircut, I played on the floor with Dakota, and I saw my friend, Sadie. Her daddy and my daddy have been friends since they were kids.

Sour Apple

Today daddy was eating a granny smith apple. I got to have a whole piece! It was yummy and sour all at the same time. Wow!

Ole, it's Mother's Day

Last weekend was Mother's Day weekend! It was mommy's first mother's day, and daddy and I made it very special. On Saturday night, we went to a very authentic mexican restaurant.

I had my very first tortilla chip. Yum! And then I played with everything I could reach.

The mariachi band played "La Bamba" for us. I was very interested in their guitars and all the bright colors around the restaurant.

On Sunday, daddy brought mommy flowers. Then we all went to Papa Jon's club for brunch. We ate a lot! I love blueberries!

Mouse and mommy got to open cards and presents. I sat on mommy's lap and helped.

Having a Ball

Here I am with my new, big ball. It is really fun! We are having a good time in Indianapolis.

Mommy is not working too hard, so I get to spend some of my days with her. Other times, I'm either with Mouse, or my new baby sitter, Mary.

Mary is very nice. She just graduated from college, and she comes over once or twice a week to play with me.

Until yesterday afternoon, the weather had been great. I've been on lots of walks! Now it's raining and it's going to keep raining forever!

I'm super-duper busy. I crawl everywhere, stand up, sit down, follow balls, push trucks, cuddle bears, climb stairs, chase dogs, talk, laugh....my goodness. Oh, and eat. I eat lots!

First Bike Ride

Hello from Indianapolis! Mommy and I drove here on Friday evening. I did great in the car - slept the whole way. I'm getting very good at long car trips. The great thing is that our days of long car trips are over for a whole month! Yay! Because now we are in Indy for the month of May - together with daddy.

On Saturday, mommy and daddy spent most of the day getting organized and unpacked, and I caught up on my sleep. One of my naps was over 2 1/2 hours! On Sunday, we got mommy a mother's day present - a bike seat for me! And today we went on a family bike ride! I wasn't thrilled with my helmet, but all in all, it was pretty fun. I think we'll go on lots more.
