Happy Halloween!

Well, I learned about a new Holiday today, Halloween. It is when you are too young to know what is going on, and your parents decide to dress you up as an unpopular vegetable and show you off to the neighbors in a display of huge parental pride.

Anyway, today was a good day. Had fun @ Mona's, who decorated her house for Halloween. Then, Daddy got done early and was able to pick me up. We played and watched a movie called "Sideways" which was
totally over my head.

Now, after all these older kids have looted all the good candy from the house, I am just plain tired. These photo-ops wear me out. I need a new publicist or I am never going to get enough rest!

Time for bed again for me. Next Halloween I will be out with the masses ready to go. Till tomorrow!

Apples, Pumpkins, and Sunshine

Today has been a great day! It's beautiful and sunny, and everyone is outside enjoying the weather. We went on an adventure. We drove to Rockford and had lunch at The Corner Bar. Mommy and daddy thought their sandwiches were yummy, and the waitress thought I was "precious". After lunch we took a walk in the park and Dakota got to come, too. I fell asleep in my stroller and took a little catnap. It felt good to be in the sunshine. Mommy says we have to enjoy every minute of sunshine while we've got it, because we'll be missing it in February.

Then we went to Robinette's. It's an apple farm, and it's very popular in the fall. We ran into one of the doctors who is teaching daddy how to do surgery. He and his wife are very nice. I gave them a couple of big smiles. We stood in line to get pumpkin and chocolate donuts. Mommy had the pumpkin one, and she said it was delicious. Daddy ate the chocolate one. We also bought a big bag of apples and some apple cider. Mommy is going to make homemade applesauce, and freeze some of it so that I can eat it this winter. I'm starting to think that this real food thing sounds pretty good!

There was a horse-drawn hay wagon that people were riding in. Mommy wanted daddy to take a picture of me with the two big horses, but daddy said he didn't think it was safe to have me so close to the horse. Mommy then noticed a sign saying that the owners couldn't be held responsible if a horse caused someone's death, so I had my picture with the giant pumpkin instead. It was better all the way around.

It's been a very nice weekend, and we're sorry to see it go.... But we'll have more fun soon. Daddy says that every day is fun with me around.

G.G.

Last night I had my first sleep-over. I went over to GG's (that's lingo for Great Grandma) and had a blast!
We played and ate and hung-out. She was doing Mommy and Daddy a HUGE favor because both of those slackers were on call on the Hospital all night. But that spells opportunity for G.G. and me.

She said that I was pretty good and the whole night went well. I did not wake up in the middle of the night, and was in a good mood most of the time. I think GG had a really good time.

Not hard to do when you have a 4th generation cutie in your grasps!

Four Months!

Mommy is home!! She got back yesterday afternoon, and she was so excited to see me. Her flight was delayed in Detroit, and she was so anxious to get home that she couldn't sit still in the airport. She had a really good time in Orlando, but she missed me lots! I missed her too, but I had a good time with daddy and mouse. They took good care of me, but it's nice to have mommy home. She is such a good cuddler!

Today was my Four Month Check-up. I like Dr. Bolan. He is a very good doctor. And his nurse, Kay, is very, very nice. She said that I'm handsome! I weigh 15 pounds and 15 5/8 ounces. That sounds pretty close to 16 pounds to me - one more big meal of milk should push me right over. I am 25 3/4 inches long. Those are both 75th percentile, so I'm quite well proportioned, mommy says. Dr. Bolan says that I'm perfect and right on track with all of my new tricks. He and mommy talked about when to start feeding me solid food. I think it's going to be Thanksgiving, when I am 5 months old. When everyone is eating turkey, I'm going to be eating oatmeal!

Today is daddy's birthday! He had to work a little, but then met Grandpa for a grown-up drink @ Roses. Now, we're going to have a little party tonight, and our neighbors from across the street are going to come over for cake and ice cream. Too bad I am too young to eat any ;-(
But, I am sure we'll have some pictures of that later. Till then!

Sunday Pumpkin

Well, Mommy left yesterday for Orlando for her medical conference, leaving Daddy and Mouse to take care of me. Scary! But, so far, so good. It was fun to go to the airport yesterday, the second time I have been there in two weeks.
But it was a little sad to say goodbye to Mommy. But I will see her on Wednesday, so not too bad. Last night, I had my first babysitter. She was very, very nice. We didn't party too hard, and I think Dad was glad it was a good experience for all.

Today, Jon, Mouse, Daddy and I had breakfast and then Papa Jon had to go back to Indianapolis.

The rest of the day was very low-key, and I watched some football, took a long nap, and went for a walk w/ Mouse around the block with my new pet pumpkin.

This week should be fun, especially when Mommy gets back into town. Thursday is Daddy's birthday and I am looking forward to checking out how many candles will be on his cake!

Family Month

I know that it's been a while since I've written. It's been such a busy month. Mommy and daddy realized last night that I have seen all of my grandparents in October. WOW!

It started with Ems when we went to the wedding in Arkansas. We were there for my mommy's cousin's wedding. Her name is Erin. I got to go the wedding myself, and it was nice. I also got to meet lots of mommy's family. The best part was getting to see my Ems. She was so excited to see me and show me off to her sisters. Then she spent lots of time talking to me and cuddling me. I showed her what a good talker I am. I think she was impressed.

Then Grandpa Mike came to visit from Colorado for a whole week. He had never met me before, so I had lots of showing off to do. I put my whole hand in my mouth multiple times, I rolled over, I discovered my new loud voice. Pretty neat! While he was here, we went to the Michigan football game, and that was fun. G'pa Mike seemed to like it, and since I'd been to Ann Arbor before, I showed him around.

Last night, Grandpa Chip and Stacie came over to visit, because it had been a long while since they saw me. I've gotten lots bigger. G'pa Chip said that I'm very photogenic - he thinks my blog pictures are cute. Stacie made me laugh - she's very nice.

And tonight, Mouse and Papa Jon arrived from Indianapolis. Mouse is going to help daddy take care of me for a few days, because mommy is going to a medical conference in Florida. There is a hurricane on its way to Florida too. Papa Jon is just coming for the weekend, because they're going to celebrate daddy's birthday. Too bad mommy is going to miss the celebration, but she'll be back for daddy's real birthday, and then we'll have another party with just the three of us and Dakota.

It's been so crazy this month, but pretty fun, too. I've done lots of growing and learning in between all the activity. Next week is my 4 month doctor visit. Wow!

Amazing Win!

Wow, what a fun day to go to Ann Arbor for the Michigan vs. Penn State game. It was the best (and only) game I ever saw in person. I went nuts, Daddy went nuts. It seemed everyone went crazy when Michigan won with 1 second remaining in the game.

I am now totally exhausted.

Now we are back at home and it is time for me to go to bed. Another day of watching some football tomorrow.

Mommy is on call, so I will be chillin' with Daddy and Grandpa Mike for most of the day.

Traveling to Arkansas

Well, I just got back from a wedding in Arkansas. First time on a plane, and If I do say so myself, I did pretty well. Not a lot of crying and the beverage service Mom provided was quite good. As you can see, I slept a little at the O-hare Airport in between flights. People did not seem to mind, though Mom kept a close eye on me so no one would bother me.
It was great to see and meet lots of Mom's family for the first time. Everyone was very nice and I got passed around quite a bit. When we finally got home, I was waaaayyyyy tired. It was also very cold back in Michigan so I had to wear a hat to bed. Now it should be business as usual here in G.R. Daddy's birthday is coming up, so that should be fun, even though I am too young to have any cake yet.

Pretty Fall Days

Today is the Michigan-Michigan State football game. That's a pretty big deal around here. Daddy is looking forward to it, but he's a little nervous because U of M hasn't had the best year so far. I think Michigan will win; I'm wearing my cute outfit to be a good fan.

It's been very pretty the past few days. We've gone on more walks and watched the pretty sunsets. On Thursday, after my nap, we went to Sutton's Bay and did a little bit of shopping. We got a present for my soon to arrive cousin, Baby Ford. We're going to Arkansas next weekend for mommy's cousin's wedding, so we're stocking up on gifts. After Sutton's Bay, we had dinner at the Happy Hour. There were a lot of grandpa and grandma type people there, and they thought that I was REALLY cute. I was the star of the place.

Yesterday, daddy did some golfing, and mommy and I took a really long walk. I started out in my stroller, but then I decided that I would rather have mommy carry me. She carried me for a long time, and I fell asleep in her arms. So cozy!
