My Buddy Pittman

Last Monday, while we were up in Northport, my friend, Pittman Alley, came to visit. We had the best time!

He's about to have his first birthday, so we're a little less than 3 months apart.

We played with lots of toys. But the best part was when we went for a walk with my push car. We pushed it all over the cottage. We are quite a team!

We went over to his cottage, too, and looked at some frogs in the pond and played on his roller coaster.

Reading and more Reading!

We had quite a weekend around here. On Friday, Mona called mommy because I had a fever and didn't feel good. Mommy picked me up right away, and we went home and snuggled for a while. Then I took a long nap and felt a little better. But I woke up at 4am with a temperature of 103.5 - that is the highest fever I've ever had. I was so hot and miserable! Motrin made me feel better, plus a nice snuggle with mommy in my rocking chair.

On Saturday, I took three naps and did a little playing in between. My fever seemed to be over by dinner time, so I was feeling a lot better. Being outside in the fresh air felt good, so we all spent a lot of time in the sunshine. Daddy did a lot of work in the yard, too.

On Sunday, I was feeling pretty much back to normal. I read the paper with daddy. I had waffles for breakfast. I explored every drawer in the house. I went for a long walk with mommy and dakota.

I am really enjoying books right now. I love to be read to, but I also like to sit in the rocking chair and read to myself. Sometimes I take a book to bed with me and read a bit before falling asleep.

This is a big week! I'm glad that I'm feeling better. Mommy takes her board exam on Thursday and Friday in Chicago. She has to leave tomorrow afternoon, and daddy has to leave tomorrow morning. He has a meeting in Traverse City at the hospital and then he is going to the cottage for a wedding.

Mouse is coming to stay with me until mommy comes home Friday night. Then mommy, Mouse, Papa Jon, and I are all driving up to the cottage on Saturday morning. We are having an 80th birthday party for G.G. on Sunday. Wow! We're always so busy!

Finale

Tomorrow is mommy's very last day of residency. It took an extra week for her, because she stayed home with me last week. I think we should do something fun to celebrate. Today, mommy and daddy picked me up early from Mona's, and we visited one of daddy's doctor friends. I had my ears checked, and they are perfect! I smiled for all the nice ladies at the office after I recovered from a moment of shyness. I even got a sticker. Now I'm going to take a nap....

Some New Not-So-Formal Pictures!

I got my one-year pictures taken a couple of weeks ago. They are more like my 13-month pictures, but what can you do?

A Day at the Beach

We all went to the beach on Wednesday to enjoy a pretty afternoon. It was so fun!

I played in a water park and splashed and splashed. I played on the sand and in the water. I could crawl all around, in and out of the water.

This has been a great week! It's Mona's week off, so I've been home with mommy every day. And to make it even better, daddy had some time off, too. We've played so much!

I've been using my push toys to walk all over, inside and outside. We've gone on lots of walks. I'm sleeping great and eating lots of yummy food. Life is grand!

Saturday

Mommy and I had a very busy, fun Saturday. I started it off by getting a very good night's sleep last night. I woke up with a big smile and lots of energy. Too bad that daddy is at a conference in Cleveland, but he'll be back late tonight.

After breakfast, we played for a long time in our red room. I thought it was great to use mommy's leg as a stool and climb up and down off the couch.

I can't be stopped! I love to climb.

I took a nice nap and had some lunch. Then we went to the zoo. It was fun! We saw chimps, bears, lizards, snakes, flamingos. I petted a goat!

Here I am making a face at the chimpanzees. Pretty funny!

Blueberries with a Fork

I love to hold my own fork and spoon! Mommy put some yummy yogurt and blueberries into my bowl, and I had a very good time poking them (with some help) and eating them.

Every bite I took made me giggle.

And that made mommy and daddy giggle.

Jell-Ohhhh

Mommy has never been a big fan of jello, but she thought that it might be something fun for me to eat. So she made me some blue berry jigglers.

At first, it made me gag a little bit. This made her laugh, because it still sorta makes her gag.

I ended up thinking it was an okay treat, but I'd still rather have a real blueberry. Mommy says that's great!!

Some Pictures from NPP

These are some more pictures from our July 4th trip to Northern Michigan. Here are the four 2005 babies - me, of course, Hannah, Abby, and Pittman. Trying to get a picture of all of us on the couch was very silly.
