Daddy's Last Day :-(

Today was daddy's last full day in Grand Rapids for four whole months. So sad. We had a nice day today though. Mommy even took the afternoon off so that all three of us could spend some time together. We went for a walk, and I rode on daddy's back. I kept patting daddy's shoulder during our walk. My face got very red from the cold, but I still thought it was fun to be out. I'm going to miss my daddy a lot! Mommy and I are going to start counting down the days until we see him again - March 24th in Indianapolis! That's 25 days!

Daddy Day

I've been spending lots of special time with daddy this week. Mommy even got to come on one of our daytime walks. It's been great!

One afternoon, while we were waiting for mommy to come home for another walk, daddy and I were playing on the computer. All of a sudden, I just fell asleep! Fortunately mommy got home just in time to take some pictures.

Overalls

I have been getting a few questions on why my cute little nose is orange. Dr. Daddy says that eating too many carrots, or other foods high in beta-carotene, can cause a condition called carotenemia. High levels of beta-carotene can cause a yellowish discoloration of the skin, most noticeable on the palms and soles and nose. Unlike jaundice, though, carotenemia does not cause yellowing of the whites of the eyes. Carotenemia is usually seen in young children, is not toxic, and generally does not cause other health problems.

It is completely normal. Thank goodness! ;-)

I wore my new overalls today. I have been waiting to grow into them. Ems gave them to me for Christmas. They're pretty darn cute and comfy. They're my first overalls with real metal buckles!
I discovered them right away and enjoyed chewing on them.

Daddy is taking this whole week off of work, because he leaves for Cinncinati next week. That means lots of daddy and Jack time. Today we all went on a walk. It was very chilly! I was in the backpack, and at one point, the wind blew a little bit. Brrr. I did not enjoy that one bit.
I figured out how to hide behind mommy's head though, and that made it better.

I'm still enjoying eating cheerios, and tonight I had some apple yogurt. It was not quite as yummy as the blueberry, but pretty tasty. Mommy gave me some pieces of peach too. I didn't really like it though - it's kinda slimy.

Well, I'm off to bed. I took good naps today, but I'm still tired. I think that I must be doing lots of growing and figuring because I've been pretty tired.
And sometimes I get a little mad when I can't move as much as I'd like. It's a good thing to get good sleep and rest up for more growing tomorrow.

YUMMY

Mommy and I went to the store earlier today and found a new flavor of YoBaby yogurt. I have a new favorite food - blueberry yobaby!! It's delicious. I ate the whole container. WOW! This is a pretty silly picture, but the camera battery died, so this is the only one mommy was able to take. Too bad, because she thought I was making some pretty great faces as I was enjoying my dinner. I was kicking my feet and waving my arms and giggling! MMMMMMMMmmmm!

Saturday Morning

Good morning! I slept great last night and woke up in a very good mood. I had some breakfast and wore my valentine bib. I had a LOT of milk - I was very hungry!

It's extremely cold today, but also very sunny. It might be too cold to go on a walk, but mommy and I might try it out later.

While mommy and I were playing on the floor, I discovered a new place to explore. I threw my ball under the exersaucer and then followed it in.

It's pretty neat under there. My ball rolls and rolls. That made me giggle.

Then I realized I was stuck and needed some help from mommy. Pretty silly!

Cheerios!

I had my first cheerios tonight. Yummy! They were great fun. Mommy put a bunch on my tray, and I picked them up and sometimes got them into my mouth. Daddy took pictures.

I think this could entertain me for hours. Dakota was very interested in it all, too. I dropped some on the floor for him. He's finally realizing the joy of having a baby brother.

By the way, dakota got a very short haircut last week. He looks great!

I'm feeling much better now. I'm back to my old self - lots of giggling and talking and rolling around. I'm getting very good at scooting around on the floor on my tummy. I can really get places.

I'm also a really good sleeper. At night, mommy and daddy get me ready for bed, and we have a story and some songs. Then I lay down in crib, and I snuggle with my green pancake bear. He's so cozy. I flip over on my tummy and fall right asleep.

Today, in Colorado, my Ems had breakfast with Mouse and Papa Jon. They are going skiing this week, so they stopped to say hi to Ems. It sounds like they had fun!

In Grand Rapids, G.G. came over to visit me this morning. She can't believe how big I've gotten! Then we went to lunch with Grandpa Chip and Stacie. It was a family day all over the country.

Well, I'm off to bed to rest up for another fun day tomorrow. Hopefully some more of those cheerios....

Super Cars and The Super Bowl!

It's Super Sunday!

When I woke up this morning, mommy was home from the hospital after being on call last night. Yippee!

After breakfast and a quick nap, mommy and daddy and I went to the auto show. There were lots of shiny cars and people to watch. I rode in my backpack and mommy and daddy took turns carrying me. It was fun! Daddy liked the porsche convertible. It was pretty neat!

When daddy went to get our car, I took a quick snooze in my backpack. Mommy was glad that she had the camera.

I had some lunch when we got home and then I took a very long nap. I've still been feeling a bit under the weather, so it was good to have a nice rest. When I woke up, we all hung out by the fire in the living room. It was cozy.

Then it was time to get ready for the super bowl. We're pretty excited about the game, but not as excited as we would have been if the colts or broncos were in it. I wore my colts jersey anyway. Since the game is in Detroit, there has been lots and lots of talk about it around here.

It's been a great Sunday. The best part is that both mommy and daddy took tomorrow off, so we have another great day to enjoy. Yay!

Good night!!
