Counting

Tonight mommy put me to bed and left my light on so I could play and read a bit before falling asleep. About ten minutes later, she came into my room and found me sitting in bed with the five tins that hold my handprints. There is one for each year, 1 through 5. Each one has a number on it. I showed mommy the 4th tin and said "four!" Then I proceeded to count them by looking at the numbers. I can put them in order and then count out of order, too, just by looking at the number. Mommy was quite impressed. Wow!

Mommy has a sinus infection, and daddy has the dreaded stomach flu. Poor daddy! Addison and I feel great! Thank goodness. We're more than halfway done with mommy's busy week in the hospital. Yippee! Saturday is daddy's and mommy's anniversary. Spring is coming (we think...) eventually. Life is good. I love Addison. Nobody can make her giggle quite like I can. Night-night!

Sweet Potato, Sweet Potato

The other night, Addison and I both had sweet potatoes. This was her first taste of something other than rice cereal or oatmeal. I love sweet potatoes! Yum! Yum!

So far, she doesn't seem to love solid food. She's pretty happy with mommy milk, but she does like the taste of different things. And she really likes to watch me eat.

If she is sitting on mommy's or daddy's lap, she tries to grab food off of their plate. She has a strong grip. I tell you, I'm going to be keeping her away from my trains!

And my fries, come to think of it!

She enjoyed a little after dinner reading....

Sun in Michgan?!?

I know, it's hard to believe. It was a beautiful day last Saturday and we actually braved the cold. It was fun!! It's supposed to be similar this weekend. Mommy has to go to the hospital, but hopefully we'll still get to do some outside things.

We're Growing!!

Addison and I both had doctor's appointments this week. We both checked out A-OK. I am now 32 pounds and 38 inches; that's 70th and 90th percentile. Dr. Bolan still says that I'm still long and lean and doing great! I have good motor skills, and he was quite impressed that I know all my colors!

Addison weighs 16 pounds and 1 3/4 ounces which is 60th percentile. She is 26 3/4 inches long, which is 90th percentile. Mommy can't believe that I weighed two pounds more and a whole 2 1/4 inches longer than that when I was six months old. She wishes that we knew how much Addie weighed two weeks ago, because we think she just went through a growth spurt. It would be neat to know how much weight a sweet baby girl can gain in two weeks.

We're happy that it's the weekend. Tomorrow is supposed to be a pretty nice day, so hopefully we'll get a chance to play outside - maybe we'll go sledding. Or we might go to the pool. Addison got her first bathing suit this week. It's a little skirt that is yellow with pink flowers, and it has a yellow swim shirt. Both mommy and daddy agree that bikinis are not quite right for our little girl, so she's going to be a bit more modest. That will be fun if we go swimming.

Sunday, we are due to get the storm of the year! Goodness, we can't imagine a bigger storm than the ones we've gotten already. We might be snowed in! If so, I bet we play with some trains and maybe watch a Thomas video or two. That's a pretty safe bet!
