The First Three Weeks

I have had a very busy three weeks. I was born and everyone proclaimed me the cutest baby ever. I had so many visitors in the hospital, because mommy and daddy both work there, and everyone wanted to come see me. My most special visitors were both of my grandmas! They both love me very much, and they had fun trying to decide who I look like. Most people think I have my daddy's ears and my mommy's nose, but other than that, they just think that I look like ME.

Late Saturday, June 25th, I got to leave the hospital and see my house and meet Dakota, our Golden Retriever. He was a little shocked by me, and actually much more interested in seeing mommy, but he's coming around. I like my house, and my bedroom is almost as cute as I am.

On Sunday, I met a lot of family: Great Grandma Parker and her husband Bob, Grandpa Chip and Stacie, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Chris, and my cousins, Jake and Jessica, came to visit me at our house. I slept through the entire event.

The first week at home was good. Daddy had to work a lot, so that was too bad, but I spent lots of time with mommy. She spent so much of every day just staring at me and kissing me. I think she really likes me!

A week after I was born, we all drove to northern Michigan for the Fourth of July weekend. My daddy has been going to Northport Point and his family's cottage since he was a baby, and he was excited to show me off. I liked my first long car trip; I slept the whole way. I met tons of people - everyone was very nice and, once again, everyone said that I'm the cutest baby ever! I got to meet my Great Grandma Lewis (I call her G.G.).

We went to the annual 4th of July picnic, to the Pointer for lunch, and for a golf cart ride in the Peekaboo sling with mommy to watch daddy play golf.

On Saturday, July 9th, the whole family drove to Indianapolis to stay with grandma (I call her mouse) and Papa Jon. Daddy had a medical conference, and mommy and I went with him so that we could all spend lots of time together. Mouse was really nice and helped take care of me and mommy and daddy. Every morning, I spent time with her on the sun porch. It was fun! While we were there, I got stronger and bigger. Daddy started calling me Chunky Monkey, because I’m getting kind of pudgy. We were in Indianapolis for 10 days – I did lots of things while I was there.

I had my first shower with daddy, my first full bath in the sink, I went to the pool and dipped my toes in the water, and I went to a movie, “The Wedding Crashers,” in the new blue Peekaboo Sling with mommy and daddy. Dakota had a good time, too, because he went on a lot of walks with Mouse and her dog, Blue.

I was sad to say goodbye to Mouse and Papa Jon, but I’m excited to get back to our house in East Grand Rapids. And Grammie Ems is coming to visit on Sunday!

Talk to you again soon !
